Former NFL player Marcus Vick, who’s known more for his actions off the field than on it, is serving jail time after being charged with assaulting a police officer in April.
TMZ reported Monday that although Vick reached a plea deal and ended up only facing charges of resisting arrest, he will still serve jail time. The report said Vick received a one-year sentence with 11 months suspended and credit for time served, so he’ll only serve another week or so.
In April, Vick tried to run from arrest related to a previous warrant, pushed an officer away and knocked him to the ground.
Vick was kicked off Virginia Tech’s team in early 2006 and played in one NFL game for the Dolphins. Vick’s older brother, Michael, has said he wants to continue playing in the NFL after spending last season with the Steelers.
