The University of Florida is doing its due diligence searching for a football coach, and is checking out a number of NFL names.
While there were reports of interest in Eagles head coach Chip Kelly, now there’s another offensive name in the mix.
According to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels’ name has been mentioned as a possibility for the Gators head coaching job.
Since his stint as the Broncos head coach, he’s also interviewed for the Browns head coaching job. His college coaching background isn’t extensive, as his last job was as a graduate assistant for Nick Saban at Michigan State in 2000.
Of course, he knows all about college quarterbacks, from his days with Tim Tebow, so that should earn him some points with the Gators loyalists.
