Ryan Grant is finally back in the NFL after agreeing to terms on a contract with the Washington Redskins.

Grant, a free agent running back who played the last five seasons for the Packers, appeared to have options: According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, Grant agreed to terms with the Redskins while in Chicago for a workout with the Bears. Grant was actually in the Bears’ locker room when he got the call informing him that he had an offer with the Redskins.

The Redskins have some depth at the running back position, with rookie Alfred Morris starting all three games this year and playing fairly well, and backups Roy Helu and Evan Royster also in the mix. But Helu and Royster both suffered injuries on Sunday against the Bengals, leaving the Redskins potentially needing someone who could step in today and be ready to play by Sunday.

Last season Grant started 14 games for the Packers and carried 134 times for 559 yards and two touchdowns.
