The trade deadline passed quite a while ago, but the Ravens and Texans still managed to swap wideouts on Monday.
The Ravens announced that they made a successful waiver claim on former Houston wideout Steven Sims. The move came on the same day that the Texans claimed Diontae Johnson off of waivers from Baltimore.
Sims did not have a catch in seven appearances for the Texans this season, but his punt return skills are likely what led to the Ravens’ interest. Desmond King fumbled two punts in Saturday’s win over the Steelers and he replaced Tylan Wallace in the job after Wallace lost a pair of kicks a couple of weeks earlier.
King is expected to remain in the role for Wednesday’s game against Sims’s former team.
Sims returned a punt 67 yards for a touchdown against the Ravens in the playoffs last season. He returned 16 punts for 99 yards this season and also returned seven kickoffs for 195 yards.
