The Giants got a strong first half from Rashad Jennings, but it looks like they might have to settle for that.

Jennings is on the bench with what the team is calling a sprained left knee and his return is being called questionable. Jennings, who has 10 carries for 55 yards, went to the bench after an eight-yard carry on his first touch of the second half and is now wearing a large ice wrap on the knee after being evaluated by the team’s medical staff.

If he remains out, the Giants will have to lean on Andre Williams and Peyton Hillis to help them come back from a 10-point deficit. Falcons running back Antone Smith caught a short pass from Matt Ryan, broke a tackle by Giants safety Antrel Rolle and sprinted 74 yards for a touchdown to extend Atlanta’s lead to 20-10 with just under six minutes to play in the third quarter.

Hillis hasn’t carried the ball yet this year, but there were questions about how well Williams would fit into the passing game as a rookie after rarely seeing time in it at Boston College.
