One of the most prominent agents in the football world passed away on Thursday.
According to multiple reports, long-time agent Eugene Parker of Relativity Sports died at age 60.
Parker was one of the most respected and prominent agents in the league. His client list was exhaustive and littered with stars, All-Pros and Hall of Famers. He represented Deion Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Rod Woodson, Walter Jones and Curtis Martin. All have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
Parker’s list of active players is lofty as well. He represents Larry Fitzgerald (ARI), Jason Pierre-Paul (NYG), Allen Robinson (JAX), Alshon Jeffery (CHI), Jairus Byrd (NO), Jared Odrick (JAX), Kelvin Benjamin (CAR), Michael Crabtree (OAK), Sammy Watkins (BUF) and Carlos Hyde (SF) among others.
Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith, Eastern Kentucky defensive end Noah Spence and Mississippi receiver LaQuon Treadwell were among the top draft prospects signed by Parker.
Parker played college basketball at Purdue University and was a fifth round selection of the San Antonio Spurs in the 1978 NBA Draft. Instead of signing with the Spurs, Parker became a graduate assistant at Valparaiso University, where he worked to get his law degree.
