Though it remains to be seen whether Dolphins coach Joe Philbin will use running back Reggie Bush as a workhorse or part of a two- or three-headed backfield, Bush will have the same position coach that helped him enjoy a career year in 2011.
The Dolphins have announced that running backs coach Jeff Nixon will return as a member of Philbin’s staff.
The Dolphins also announced that Blue Adams will serve as assistant defensive backs coach, Charlie Bullen will be a defensive assistant, Ben Johnson will work as an offensive assistant, and Chris Mosley will be the assistant offensive line coach.
Under Nixon, Bush rushed for 1,086 yards, and rookie Daniel Thomas churned out 581 yards, most in the AFC last season for any first-year player.
The more important position right now in Miami, of course, is quarterback. Then again, that’s been the most important position since Dan Marino retired.
