A chronic knee injury ended the Cleveland career of 2011 first-round defensive tackle Phil Taylor a year ago. After a season out of football, Taylor signed earlier this year with the Broncos.
Taylor’s season already has ended. The Broncos have placed Taylor on injured reserve after he suffered a knee injury in practice on Friday. His roster spot was filled via the acquisition of free-agent defensive end Billy Winn.
As noted by the team’s official website, Taylor could return. For the first time this year, a team can return one player from IR without designating him as the player who is eligible to come back in advance.
