We’ve recently argued that, if Tiki Barber really wants to continue his football career at a time when the NFL isn’t interested, he should join the UFL. But another guy who followed that path has found out that the UFL is no gimme, either.

A transaction report dated September 6 but arriving in the PFT email box early Thursday shows that the Virginia Destroyers have cut former WVU and Dolphins quarterback Pat White.

As it turns out, word of White’s demise emerged over the weekend. “They just released him,” White’s father, Bo, told the Charleston Daily Mail. “It really is a shame.”

The Destroyers had no comment on the decision to release White, who won four bowl games during his time with the Mountaineers, but whose one-year pro career by all appearances is over.
