The Panthers don’t have a general manager, but they’re still making roster moves.
Panthers coach Ron Rivera, who for the moment is the voice of authority over there, just announced that cornerback Chris Gamble will be placed on injured reserve.
Gamble was bothered by a shoulder problem, missed the Seahawks game, and aggravated it in practice prior to the loss to the Cowboys that triggered GM Marty Hurney’s dismissal this morning.
Gamble’s absence leaves them patching in the secondary, with Captain Munnerlyn again a starter after losing that job to fifth-round rookie Josh Norman in training camp.
