Zealous football fans sometimes take it too far, as evidenced by a recent incident in Wisconsin.

Via Michael Rand of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, a Packers fan allegedly stabbed a Vikings fan seven times on Sunday, following Minnesota’s 31-13 win over the Texans.

Dave Moschel of Stoughton, Wisconsin confronted a 21-year-old man who was vandalizing an inflatable Viking in Moschel’s yard. The fight that followed resulted in Moschel being stabbed on multiple occasions with a box cutter.

It could have been worse -- for the attacker.

“Luckily, I didn’t have my concealed carry on me at the time,” Moschel said. “Ninety-nine percent of the time I leave the house, I never leave without it. And this is the one time I did. I’m kind of glad I did, because he would have been dead, and I would have had to live with that.”

Via Rand, the Vikings have invited Moschel to a future practice and the November 20 game against the Cardinals.
