Packers assistant offensive line coach Joel Hilgenberg will be resigning from the staff, the club said Friday on its website.

“It has been a great experience for me to be with the Green Bay Packers these past few years, and I am thankful for the opportunity I was given,” Hilgenberg said, according to Packers.com. “I feel that it is more important now that I have more time to spend with my wife, Jeanie, and our daughter, Anna. I will miss all of the great people in the Packers organization that I have come to know, and I wish everyone the very best in the future.”

The 51-year-old Hilgenberg was the Packers’ assistant offensive line coach in 2012 and 2013. He also spent time with Green Bay as an offensive quality control coach (2011) and as a coaching intern (2010).

Hilgenberg played 142 games for the Saints from 1984-1993 and was a Pro Bowler in 1992.
