The Patriots signed defensive lineman Marcus Harrison on Friday. On Saturday, the Pats bid Harrison farewell.
Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com reports that the Pats have cut Harrison and elevated cornerback Sterling Moore from the practice squad. When signing Harrison, the Pats cut cornerback Phillip Adams.
As Reiss points out, the decision to dump Harrison suggests that one or both of the teams defensive tackles listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys -- Albert Haynesworth (back) and Kyle Love (back) -- will be able to play.
Harrison, a third-round pick of the Bears in 2008, will now pass through waivers. If unclaimed, he’ll become an unrestricted free agent.
UPDATE 5:45 p.m. ET: The team has announced the move.
