Scant information has become available regarding the fireworks injury suffered by Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul. Even less information is available regarding the fireworks injury suffered by Buccaneers cornerback C.J. Wilson.
The injury wasn’t publicly known for four days. Now that the situation has been disclosed, Wilson’s agent has declined to provide any further information.
“As we are dealing with a medical issue, we are in contact with the ball club as well and they are taking the lead on any information to the public regarding his condition or anything football-related,” agent Joel Turner told PFT via text message. “With federal law on releasing medical information, etc., we are deferring any media issues to the Tampa Bay medical staff/front office.”
Turner confirmed only that Wilson suffered and injury from fireworks, and he reiterated that any other information will come from the team.
For now, the team is saying nothing. Which possibly says plenty.
Whatever the extent of the injuries, we wish C.J. Wilson the best as he recovers from them.
