NFL removes Rita Benson LeBlanc from two committees

LeBlanc

The Benson Family Feud has influenced the business of the NFL family.

With Rita Benson LeBlanc frozen out of her presumed inheritance of the reins of the Saints upon the passing of her grandfather, Tom Benson, and otherwise removed from any current duties with the franchise, the NFL has removed LeBlanc from a pair of committees to which she previously belonged.

Daniel Kaplan of SportsBusiness Journal reports that LeBlanc no longer belongs to the Employee Benefits Committee or the International Committee.

“Since she is no longer with the team, she is no longer on any committees,” an unnamed source told Kaplan.

It sounds reasonable, but it could make for some awkward times if her family wins the lawsuit challenging the change in Mr. Benson’s will and LeBlanc ends up poised to take over the team at some point in the future.
