NFL now prohibiting exposed hoodies from being worn under uniforms

Wide receiver James Jones sported a unique look at times last season when he began wearing a hooded sweatshirt underneath his shoulder pads.

So naturally the NFL has elected to pass a rule to prohibit such clothing under uniforms beginning this fall.

According to Mike Periera of FOX Sports, the 2016 NFL rule book states that players may not wear undergarments with an exposed hood hanging outside the collar of the jersey.

Jones is not currently on an NFL roster and was the only player to sport such a look last season. Pereira’s perusal of the rule book doesn’t mention anything about simply cutting the hood off a sweatshirt and wearing that alone underneath the uniform. Seemingly that would still be permissible.

When/If Jones is signed by another team, he’ll have to alter his look a bit this season.
