We told you earlier about the Tuesday morning arrest of Patriots wideout Julian Edelman.

Brian R. Ballou and John R. Ellemen of the Boston Globe have uncovered more details about why the team’s reserve receiver was arrested for indecent assault after an incident in a Boston nightclub.

Edelman is accused in the police report of groping a woman below the waist. A man who was with the woman said Edelman bumped into the woman on the dance floor.

“He saw the victim’s face change into an expression of shock,’’ police said in the report.

The man then confronted Edelman and eventually all three of them were kicked out of the club. Edelman denied groping the woman but was arrested for indecent assault and battery and later released.

There is never a good time for something like this to happen, but Edelman has to be particularly worried about his job security. His role was waning of late; Edelman was a healthy scratch against the Steelers Sunday.
