While Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt suffered a low-ankle sprain during Sunday’s loss to the Eagles, it’s possible he could be on the field for Saturday’s upcoming matchup against Baltimore.
In his Monday press conference, head coach Mike Tomlin included Watt in a group of players for whom the “door is ajar” when it comes to playing in Week 16.
“T.J. Watt, I just saw him walking around rather comfortably,” Tomlin said. “But, again, he’s questionable with his ankle, we’ll see where the roads lead us.”
In 14 games this year, Watt has recorded 11.5 sacks, 18 tackles for loss, 27 quarterback hits, and a league-leading six forced fumbles.
Additionally, receiver George Pickens is set to practice this week and could potentially be back on Saturday after missing the last two games with his hamstring injury.
DeShon Elliott (hamstring), Lary Ogunjobi (groin), cornerback Donte Jackson (back), and quarterback Justin Fields (abdomen) are also players who have not been ruled out for Saturday’s game, with Tomlin noting the team will formulate a practice plan for all of them and see where the week goes.
