Michael Penix has no injury designation, set to start Sunday

Falcons quarterback Michael Penix is good to go for Sunday’s game against the Bears.

Penix injured his ribs in the fourth quarter of last Sunday’s loss to the Ravens and was not able to return to the game in overtime, but he has been a full participant in practice all of this week. He did not receive an injury designation on Friday’s injury report, which leaves him on track to start this weekend.

Penix missed the first two games of the season as he worked his way back from last season’s torn ACL. He’s 52-of-77 for 719 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in three starts.

Defensive end Za’Darius Smith has cleared the concussion protocol, but is listed as questionable with a neck injury. Cornerback C.J. Henderson has been ruled out with a groin injury.
