The Bears kept Jay Cutler and Brian Hoyer on their 53-man roster Saturday and Sunday brought a third quarterback to the practice squad.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Matt Barkley has joined the club and Barkley’s Twitter bio has been updated to show Chicago as the home of his new team. Barkley, a 2013 fourth-round pick, was waived by the Cardinals on Saturday, nearly a year to the day after they sent a seventh-round pick to the Eagles for his rights.

The Bears also made three moves on their active roster. According to multiple reports, they have signed veteran tight end Logan Paulsen a day after he was released by the Redskins. Paulsen played 75 games for Washington over the last five seasons and caught 79 passes for 801 yards and six touchdowns.

Center Eric Kush and cornerback Cre’von LeBlanc were claimed off waivers. Kush played seven games for the Rams last season, but couldn’t find a spot on this year’s roster. The Bears lost projected starter Hroniss Grasu for the season this summer.

LeBlanc signed with the Patriots as an undrafted rookie and had an athletic interception in their first preseason game before getting squeezed out on Saturday. Kyle Fuller, Tracy Porter and Bryce Callahan have all dealt with injuries this summer.

The Bears waived defensive back Demontre Hurst, tight end Khari Lee and center Cornelius Edison to make room for the new players on the active roster.
