As quarterback Mike Vick tries to stay in the NFL, his notorious younger brother may have a hard time staying out of jail.

Marcus Vick, a great college quarterback who never had more than a shot of espresso with the NFL, has been charged with assaulting a police officer, via WAVY.com. He also faces charges of obstruction of justice, destruction of property, and resisting arrest from an incident occurring at a fitness facility on Sunday.

A Newport News police spokesperson told WAVY-TV that police had received information that Vick was wanted in Montgomery County, Virginia for contempt of court. As the officer tried to arrest Vick, Vick tried to run, pushing the officer away and knocking him into a counter top. Vick also allegedly broke a door.

After a brief chase on foot, Vick was taken into custody.

Mike Vick has been criticized at times for failing to get the most out of his God-given skills. Marcus Vick, while not as talented as his brother, did far less with his own abilities.

Still only 32, Marcus Vick would still be in his prime, if he’d managed to stick in the NFL. But that ship sailed a long time ago.
