Marc Colombo retires as a Cowboy

Marc Colombo Pic

Offensive tackle Marc Colombo broke into the league as a first-round pick with the Bears in 2002. He spent the 2011 season as the Dolphins’ starting right tackle.

But on Friday, Colombo signed a one-day ceremonial contract to retire as a Dallas Cowboy. Colombo did enjoy his best seasons in Dallas, spending five years there as a starter from 2006 through 2010.

“I just think being able to retire as a Dallas Cowboy is something I always envisioned after I’d been here for a few years,” Colombo said Friday, according to ESPN Dallas’ Todd Archer. “We’re living here now. The fan support has been great and I’d just like to thank everybody.”

Colombo is retiring at age 33. He finished his career with 95 starts.
