Lions issue statement on use of laser pointer during Sunday’s game

Sunday’s game at Ford Field featured a fan with a laser pointer who was trying to distract Bills players. The Lions issued a statement on the situation Sunday night.

“We are aware of the reports from today’s game involving the use of a laser, and we have been in contact with NFL security regarding this issue,” the team said. “Lasers are a prohibited item at Ford Field. While Ford Field security was unable to identify anyone using a laser at today’s game, any future occurrence will be dealt with accordingly.”

The problem for the Bills is that the Lions failed to deal with it on Sunday. Bills quarterback Kyle Orton said he noticed the laser a couple of times during the game, and kicker Dan Carpenter said the laser was pointed at him while attempting a 50-yard field goal in the third quarter.
