Teams looking for a wide receiver at the top of the first round will get a chance to pick up Laquon Treadwell.

The Ole Miss wideout announced in a statement through the school on Monday that he will enter the 2016 draft. Treadwell completed a terrific season -- 82 catches for 1,153 yards and 11 touchdowns -- with three touchdowns in a Sugar Bowl rout of Oklahoma State and is widely regarded as this year’s top prospect at receiver.

“After sitting down with my family, we have decided it is time for me to take the next step in my career and enter the 2016 NFL draft,” Treadwell said. “It’s always been a dream of mine to play in the NFL, and I can’t thank my teammates, coaches and our great fans enough for their unbelievable support since the first day I stepped foot on campus. No matter how far life may take us, I will always be an Ole Miss Rebel. God bless.”

Treadwell is one of three highly rated Ole Miss prospects that are expected to pursue life as high picks in the NFL draft. Offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche, who has also announced he’s going pro, also rank among the top prospects that could wind up in this year’s pool.
