After spending the season with the Browns, Mike Vrabel is now available to interview with any team about its head coaching vacancy.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed Vrabel’s time with Cleveland has come to an end during his Tuesday video conference.
“Coach ‘Vrabes’ is one of my favorites,” Stefanski said. “Just a rock-solid human. Was a great help to this football team, a great help to me, a great help to our scout-team defense. He’s going to do great.
“Part of adjusting his contract was letting him get a head start on some of these interviews, and I think a team will be lucky to have him.”
Vrabel joined the Browns in March after he was fired by the Titans in January. While he took some interviews in the 2024 coaching cycle, he did not land a job.
Vrabel is expected to be one of the top candidates available in the coming cycle. With the Jets, Saints, and Bears already firing their head coaches during the season, Vrabel can meet with those teams now. With more vacancies expected to come on Monday, Vrabel will be ready to meet with those teams next week.
