Kendrick Bourne: We have to show that we want to be around next year

The Patriots haven’t won since Week 10 and it might be tough to pull one off in the season’s last two weeks with games against the Chargers and Bills.

But one of the team’s key offensive players noted this week that club still has plenty to play for.

“We have to finish in these last few games,” receiver Kendrick Bourne said this week, via Mike Reiss of ESPN. “We have to show that we want to be around next year — for all of us individually. I think that will give us a [step] in the direction we’re trying to go with the culture.”

New England will have one opportunity to do so on Saturday afternoon versus Los Angeles.

Bourne, 29, is under contract for the next two years with New England. He’s appeared in 10 games this season, catching 24 passes for 271 yards with one touchdown.
