With Eagles starter Mike Vick exiting before halftime of Sunday’s win over the Giants and Nick Foles playing well in place of Vick, coach Chip Kelly was unequivocal regarding the status of the starter.
“No,” Kelly said in response to a reporter question on whether Foles’ performance opens up the competition again, according to Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com.
Kelly said when picking Vick in August that it was a full-season decision.
That doesn’t mean Vick will be able to play next weekend. Vick has a hamstring injury, and he’ll have an MRI on Monday.
The Eagles travel to Tampa next weekend, where the Bucs are as desperate for a win as the Giants were today.
