JPP makes missing finger joke on Twitter

In the days after the fireworks accident that cost Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul one of his fingers, there were plenty of jokes on Twitter and other social media made at Pierre-Paul’s expense.

Now Pierre-Paul has joined the fun. After staying off of social media for several weeks after his injury, Pierre-Paul surfaced on Instagram this week and then migrated over to Twitter on Sunday.

“What happened to me was not a set back. God has greater plans for me. No man can judge me accepted God himself,” Pierre-Paul wrote, although he meant to write that “no man can judge me except God himself.” Rather than delete the tweet and send it again, Pierre-Paul make a joking reference to his missing digit.

“My bad except lost a finger LOL,” Pierre-Paul wrote.

It’s the first time that Pierre-Paul has addressed his injury or the events of July 4 publicly other than to say on Instagram that he was happy “to be alive” on his little brother’s birthday. He has spoken to the Giants, although he has opted to remain in Florida as he heals rather than join the team and let their doctors examine his right hand.
