If the story of free-agent quarterback Johnny Manziel and the trashed rental home with, allegedly, cocaine and mushrooms present wasn’t already weird enough, it’s getting a little weirder.
Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that a man identifying himself as Josh Gordon was with Manziel at the rented home last week, according to the owner of the rental agency.
Nicholas Goodwin, whose quotes to the New York Post first launched what became the story of the say on Friday, shared this specific fact with Cabot.
If the person who identified himself as Josh Gordon is the same Josh Gordon who currently is on suspension from the NFL, being present at a party at a rented home that allegedly included drugs like cocaine and mushrooms isn’t the best way to ensure reinstatement to the NFL. Last week, Gordon’s initial petition to get back into the league was denied, and he can apply again on August 1.
Josh Gordon also reportedly picked up Manziel after he was involved in a one-car accident as the passenger last Saturday night and left the scene. ESPN at one point this week reported that Manziel and Gordon were living together in L.A., but PFT and others refuted that news.
