We w0ndered aloud last night why cornerback Joselio Hanson was still a free agent.
It only took 12 hours longer to happen and Hanson landed in a surprising place: Right were he started. Geoff Mosher of the News Journal of Wilmington and Adam Caplan of Sirius NFL Radio report that Hanson has returned to the Eagles on a two-year deal.
Caplan says the Eagles beat out 3-4 teams to get him. The two year-contract could be a sign the Eagles know Asante Samuel won’t be with them in 2012, so they are planning ahead.
It’s a surprising move, but gives the Eagles enviable flexibility and depth in the secondary.
UPDATE: The Eagles cut Trevard Lindley to make room.
