Bills head coach Sean McDermott and Bengals head coach Zac Taylor endorsed their quarterbacks for MVP after Week 17 wins and Ravens head coach John Harbaugh got the same opportunity on Monday.
The Ravens played last Wednesday and Lamar Jackson became the NFL’s all-time rushing leader among quarterbacks while accounting for three touchdowns in a 31-2 rout of the Texans. Jackson has won a pair of MVP awards already and Harbaugh said he’d get his vote again this year, but added that it’s not something the team is focused on as they head into Week 18.
“He’ll always be my MVP — I promise you that,” Harbaugh said, via the team’s website. “Yes, as far as I’m concerned, he’s our MVP, and he’s our guy. But you know what? That’s really not what we’re thinking about. I haven’t heard anybody talk about that. I haven’t heard Lamar talk about it. We’re just trying to win the next game.”
Beating the Browns in Week 18 would make the Ravens the AFC North champions and Jackson could sway a few undecided voters by leading the Ravens to the win.
