Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers came into Sunday’s game against the Bills hoping to throw the 500th touchdown of his career, but he had to settle for a different milestone.
Rodgers became the most-sacked quarterback in the history of the NFL before being pulled for Tyrod Taylor with the Bills up 40-0 in the fourth quarter. Rodgers wound up being sacked twice more after breaking Tom Brady’s record and has now been sacked 568 times in his career.
The immediate question will be whether he gets a chance to add to that total against the Dolphins in Week 18. The larger question is whether Rodgers plans to continue playing in 2025.
Given how this season has played out, it’s hard to imagine the Jets signing up for another run but the history of their franchise means that it is impossible to rule anything out.
