The Jets have their offensive coordinator.

The club announced Tuesday evening it had reached a deal with ex-Bills head coach Chad Gailey to run its offense.

The 63-year-old Gailey has a long NFL track record. In addition to his three-season stint coaching Buffalo from 2010 through 2012, he coached Dallas for two seasons (1998-1999). The Bills were 16-32 in his time at the helm, with the Cowboys posting an 18-14 mark.

Gailey has been an offensive coordinator for the Steelers (1996-1997), Dolphins (2000-2001) and Chiefs (2008).

Fixing the passing game will be a top priority for Gailey. The Jets’ QB play has been a major weakness in recent seasons, and no club threw for fewer yards in 2014. Additions to the depth chart are a certainty, and Gailey figures to have a say in the evaluation of quarterbacks, whether via the draft, free agency or trade.
