Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is trying to stuff the Cowboys coaching genie back in the bottle, even though there are multiple reports that he’s chosen Jason Garrett to be his next coach on a full-time basis.

“It’s the same as it was the first of the week. After the game and interview under our Rooney Rule,” Jones told FOXSports via the Dallas Morning News. “I certainly have some interviewing to do. But I will move on this real quick. Those reports that I’ve made the decision are wrong. Certainly I’m proud of the job that [Jason Garrett] is doing.”

Jones understands the can of worms that have been opened here. As Florio mentioned in his 10-pack, Jones could prove the interview of receivers coach Ray Sherman isn’t a sham by hiring Sherman as the team’s offensive coordinator.
