Last year, linebacker James Harrison had retired until a rash of injuries resulted in the Steelers luring him back to Pittsburgh. This year, Harrison apparently won’t have to be lured.
“I decided to hold off on retirement, so it’s time to pack up and head to AZ to start my training so I can be ready to play another year!” Harrison said Sunday on Twitter.
Harrison spent 10 years with the Steelers and one with the Bengals before returning to Pittsburgh. He’ll be a free agent next month, and he can sign with any team he chooses. It’ll be interesting to see whether former Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau persuades Harrison to sign with the Titans.
“I don’t know I if I would’ve had a career,” Harrison said last year regarding the impact of playing in LeBeau’s defense.
As the Harrison and the Bengals prepared to face the Steelers in 2013, Harrison became emotional when discussing LeBeau. So if LeBeau and the Titans come calling, don’t be surprised if Harrison ends up in Nashville for his 13th NFL season.
