Jaguars owner Shad Khan continues to dramatically re-shape the franchise he just purchased.
Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union reports Khan hired Mark Lamping to be the first team president for the Jaguars in more than a decade. Lamping will oversee all non-football operations. For now, no other front office changes are known.
Lamping has a long track record inside sports. He was most recently president and CEO of Metlife Stadium in New Jersey. Before that, Lamping was the president of the St. Louis Cardinals for 13 years. He oversaw the building of a new stadium in St. Louis and one World Series title.
Lamping and G.M. Gene Smith both report directly to Khan.
