One of the most anticipated games of the day came at MetLife Stadium, where the Jets trotted out receiver Percy Harvin for the first time.
And it’s been a disaster so far.
He has three kickoff returns for an average of 35 yards, but one from nine yards deep in the end zone was stuffed at the New York 10. Harvin also has no touches on offense, with one of Geno Smith’s three interceptions coming when he forced the ball on a deep route to Harvin, who had a large cushion from cornerback Stephon Gilmore.
Harvin already has visited the locker room for evaluation of an injury. He returned, coincidentally (or not), once Smith was benched.
The Jets trail 14-0, but they’re moving with Mike Vick under center. So maybe the early disaster will turn around. Unless it doesn’t.
