Haralson Signs $15 Million Contract Extension with 49ers

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Parys Haralson has signed a four-year, $15 million contract extension that includes $6.5 million in guaranteed money, according to a league source. Haralson recorded a career-high eight sacks last season to lead the 49ers and the entire NFC West. In three NFL seasons, he has 85 tackles and 10 1/2 sacks. The former University of Tennessee standout replaced agent James “Bus” Cook in March and hired agents Sean Kiernan and Mitch Frankel, according to NFL Players Association records. Haralson is a former fifth-round draft pick who registered 8 1/2 sacks and 16 1/2 tackles for losses as a senior and was named second-team All-Southeastern Conference.
