The Texans are playing their second game without linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair after he was suspended for three games for an illegal hit on Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The Texans had another illegal hit Sunday that will at least get safety Calen Bullock a hefty fine.
Bullock pummeled Dolphins receiver Grant DuBose, who went into the fencing pose as a sign of a significant head injury.
The team’s medical staff cut off DuBose’s jersey and unscrewed the facemask. They still were working on DuBose 11 minutes after the hit, with everyone taking a knee on the field.
Dubose had on an oxygen mask and appeared to be hooked up to an EKG machine as he left on a backboard and with a neck brace.
He was taken via stretcher to an awaiting ambulance to be transported to a local hospital.
Bullock was penalized 15 yards for an unnecessary roughness penalty but was not ejected.
The Dolphins already have lost receiver Jaylen Waddle to a right ankle sprain.
