Wednesday was an awfully busy day for the Giants.

They made a trade with the Bengals for linebacker Keith Rivers, signed offensive tackle Sean Locklear and capped their day by signing free agent cornerback Antwaun Molden. The move, which Molden announced on Twitter Wednesday night, gives the Giants a bit of depth in the secondary as well as a player who can contribute on special teams.

Molden played all 19 games the Patriots played in the regular season and playoffs last season. He started twice, picked off a pair of passes and had five tackles in the Super Bowl loss to his new teammates. He spent the first three years of his career in Houston and landed in New England off waivers before the start of the 2011 season.

With Terrell Thomas, Corey Webster and Prince Amukamara, the Giants are well positioned at the top of the depth chart at cornerback. Molden will be in the mix for snaps in sub packages behind that trio.
