Giants plan to start Drew Lock at QB this week

The Falcons are making a quarterback change for Sunday’s game against the Giants and the Giants plan to make one as well.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said on Wednesday that the team plans to start Drew Lock in Atlanta. Rookie Michael Penix Jr. will be making his first NFL start for the Falcons.

Lock started two games for the Giants before sitting out last weekend with heel and elbow injuries. Tommy DeVito started in his place, but suffered a concussion in the team’s loss to the Saints and had to be replaced by Tim Boyle.

Lock was 42-of-81 for 405 yards and two interceptions in his two previous starts. The Giants lost both of those games and they’ve lost nine straight overall, so the identity of their quarterback doesn’t appear to be much of a difference maker.
