There will be a draft in 2011, even if there isn’t a football season. And even though draft picks won’t be paid until the labor situation is resolved, some guys apparently are willing to not play for free at the NFL level than to continue to play for free at the college level.
According to Channel 2 in Atlanta, Georgia receiver A.J. Green will leave school early for the draft.
“There is a 100 percent chance he is gone, and a possible lockout has no bearing on his decision,” said Zach Klein of Channel 2, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Green was suspended four games for selling his bowl jersey from last season. He still caught 49 passes for 771 yards and nine touchdowns.
Georgia faces Central Florida in the Liberty Bowl on December 31.
