NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reports that free agent tight end John Carlson is scheduled to visit the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chiefs starting tight end Tony Moeaki is recovering from a torn ACL.

Carlson has been an injury-prone disappointment since the Seahawks drafted him with the 38th overall pick in 2008. He would likely serve as Moeaki’s backup in K.C. while playing in two-tight end sets.
