Falcons rookie Vic Beasley has played with torn labrum all year

This is the time of year when, if you don’t have an excuse, you better find an injury.

Falcons rookie outside linebacker Vic Beasley told Michael Cunningham of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he’s been playing with a torn labrum in his right shoulder. He aggravated it in yesterday’s win over the Jaguars.

“I’ve played with a torn labrum the whole season,” Beasley said. “It was just one of those moments. I’ve played well with it throughout the season and I played with it in college.”

Beasley hasn’t missed any games, but the No. 8 overall pick in last year’s draft hasn’t exactly lived up to expectations. He has just 3.0 sacks this season, as the Falcons have again failed to generate enough pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

He’s only been listed on the injury report as having a foot injury in November, so it may not have bothered him that much. Or else it’s not the problem.
