Falcons LT Jake Matthews, DE Za’Darius Smith did not practice Wednesday

Falcons left tackle Jake Matthews made his 199th consecutive start on Monday night, the longest active streak in the NFL. The next one is in question.

Matthews did not practice Wednesday, two days after leaving Monday night’s win over the Saints in the first quarter. He did not return with a groin injury.

His backup, Michael Jerrell, is also on the injury report as a limited participant with an ankle injury.

Josh Kendall of TheAthletic.com reports that Jerrell said he’s anticipating backup snaps at practice this week, potentially a good sign for Matthews’ availability.

Defensive end Za’Darius Smith (concussion/neck) and linebacker Yasir Abdullah (hamstring) did not practice.

Defensive end Cam Thomas (shoulder) was limited.
