Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano is bringing in one of his former Rutgers players: Gary Gibson, a free agent defensive tackle who has agreed to terms with Tampa Bay.

Gibson, who played for Schiano at Rutgers from 2001 to 2004, agreed to a two-year, $2 million deal with $400,000 guaranteed, a source tells Adam Caplan.

Gibson played for the Rams the last three years, and although he lost his spot in the starting lineup in 2011, he was still an important part of the Rams’ defensive line rotation, playing in 36 percent of the defensive snaps and recording three sacks.

Prior to joining the Rams in 2009, Gibson played sparingly for the Panthers for two seasons, and he was also briefly on the Ravens’ roster but never got into a game for Baltimore.
