The Broncos have lost yet another key member of their offense today in St. Louis.
Broncos receiver Emmanuel Sanders took a hard hit when he reached out to attempt to reel in a deep ball from Peyton Manning. The hit, from Rams safety Rodney McLeod, was flagged as an illegal hit to the head of a defenseless player. McLeod appeared to be trying to lead with his shoulder, but there was some helmet-to-helmet contact.
There was no immediate word on the nature of the injury to Sanders, but he stayed on the ground for a couple minutes and looked shaky as he walked off. It would be surprising if he isn’t diagnosed with a concussion.
The Broncos have already lost tight end Julius Thomas and running back Montee Ball to injuries today. Denver trails St. Louis 13-7.
UPDATE 3:11 p.m. ET: Sanders has been ruled out with a concussion.
