Eddie Lacy fully participated in practice Thursday for the Green Bay Packers after suffering a concussion last week in the season opener against the Seattle Seahawks. It’s an encouraging sign that Lacy will be cleared to play prior to the Packers home opener against the New York Jets on Sunday.

Lacy was knocked out of the game in third quarter after taking a hit from Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor.

However, Lacy says he doesn’t intend to significantly alter his running style after his second concussion in a year.

I can only be myself. I was drafted here because of the way I run,” Lacy said, via Jason Wilde of ESPNWisconsin.com.

“It’s just what I have to do. Just trying to alter it, make sure I’m still physical but trying to keep the concussions out of it somehow. I’ll figure that out along the way. I’m definitely going to still run the way I run.”

Lacy is going to change his helmet once again though. Following his first concussion last season he elected to change to a helmet touted to be concussion-resistant. Instead, Lacy is switching back to his old model that he feels more comfortable with.

Lacy rushed for 1,178 yards and 11 touchdowns last season in earning NFL offensive rookie of the year honors. He was held to just 34 yards on 12 carries against Seattle before being sidelined with the injury.
