The Giants haven’t played yet in Week Seven, but their next opponent has already made a roster move to prepare for the game.
And it’s a roster move with an impact on the Giants. The Eagles announced Monday that they have signed linebacker Emmanuel Acho off of the Giants’ practice squad.
Acho was one of the final cuts made by the Eagles this summer after they acquired him in a trade from the Browns for running back Dion Lewis. Acho was a sixth-round pick of the Browns in 2012, but spent the year on injured reserve.
While the Eagles surely will listen if Acho has anything to offer about the Giants’ plans, but they’ll need to pay him for the next three weeks so it’s likely their interest in adding Acho goes beyond just this week. One reason for the move may be that Jake Knott, one of the team’s backup linebackers, injured his hamstring in Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys.
The Eagles waived cornerback Shaun Prater to make room on the roster for Acho.
