Eagles linebacker, make that former Eagles linebacker Brian Rolle, has made a quick trip from starter to unemployed.

According to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News, Rolle was released Tuesday after the Eagles began to leak on special teams against the Giants.

Rolle started 13 games at weakside linebacker last year, but was demoted to special teams this season and didn’t excel there.

When Giants rookie David Wilson averaged 36.2 yards per kickoff return, they made a change, bringing back linebacker Adrian Moten, who they cut in the preseason.

The Eagles also brought back offensive lineman Julian Vandevelde to the practice squad, releasing spare long snapper Kyle Nelson, who was deemed unnecessary when Jon Dorenbos recovered from an ankle injury in time to play Sunday night.
